Seminar on “United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Program in Afghanistan”
Volunteerism lets people and communities participate in their growth. Through volunteering, citizens build their resilience, enhance their knowledge base, and gain a sense of responsibility for their community. Social cohesion and trust are strengthened through individual and collective volunteer action, leading to sustainable outcomes for people by people. Volunteers can provide technical support and enhance capacity in all thematic goal areas. They deliver basic services, help transfer skills, and foster exchanges of good practices. The Faculty of Economics at AL-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education in collaboration with United Nations Volunteers Program in Afghanistan, is pleased to organize a virtual seminar on the UN Volunteers program on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at 10:30 AM. The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Program contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. The UNV provides qualified and highly motivated UN Volunteers to support the work of the United Nations system, to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Students will be informed about how to avail the opportunity to work with UN as volunteers. By taking part in this seminar, the students will also be able to have more information about the UNV program on current opportunities, eligibility criteria and how to apply for UNV assignments. The session is open to public and we at the Economics Faculty, welcome interested students from other universities to attend this vital seminar.
