The Leadership and faculty members from the Economics Faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education participated in the International Seminar titled “How Institutions in Asia are Preparing Students for Thriving Careers” on January 23, 2024. The seminar was organized jointly by Times Higher Education and Coursera that brought together a panel of academic experts to discuss how to align curricula with industry needs in order to drive student career readiness. This seminar also included suggestions for how to measure the impact of having a job-aligned curriculum to help university leaders more clearly quantify return-on-investment to prospective students, local employers and funders.
Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz (Dean of Economics Faculty at ATIHE) shared his insights in the discussion panel and remarked that Higher Education can lead the charge by focusing on accessibility, affordability, and quality outcomes targeting the most relevant career skills. This practice allows higher education institutions, employers, and students to thrive together.
This international seminar was mainly focused on creating the strategies to enhance learning experiences that will drive student engagement and strengthen students’ skills for the digital economy, with the aim of helping students succeed in their careers.
