UN Volunteers Seminar Conducted
The Faculty of Economics at Al-Taqwa University, in collaboration with the UN Volunteers (UNV) in Afghanistan, organized a seminar as part of the UNV program series on membership, volunteering, and benefits for youth careers, on October 15, 2024.
The session aimed to promote volunteerism among the students across universities in Afghanistan. It highlights Al-Taqwa University's collaboration with the international organizations to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Around 40 students from AU University participated in this seminar, delivered by Mr. Habiburrahman Abed (the UNV Country Coordinator in Afghanistan) and Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Kawesh from UNV office in Afghanistan.
"Volunteering is an ideal way to feel good when helping others and positively contributing to our community. It is a proven fact. We want our students to take part in voluntary activities and fulfill their commitments towards their social responsibility," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean for the Faculty of Economics.
At the end of the session, students could register themselves as UNV members and learn more about volunteerism in Afghanistan. They will be engaged in a wide range of UNV volunteering activities in Afghanistan and will receive assignments through this platform.
