The Faculty of Economics at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education holds World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community. It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in. Mental health is a basic human right. And it is crucial to personal, community and socio-economic development. World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. World Health Organization (WHO) continues to work nationally and internationally – including in humanitarian settings – to provide governments and partners with the strategic leadership, evidence, tools and technical support to strengthen a collective response to mental health and enable a transformation towards better mental health for all.  A large number of faculty and students participated in the event from all four bachelor academic programs at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education. At the end of the session, the faculty and students having the symptoms of mental health illness were given the chance to meet the mental health doctors and specialists for basic diagnosis. A team of Mental Health Doctors and specialists who participated in event from Spinghar Momand hospital presented comprehensive information on the importance of mental health for all. A number of students from other universities and local members of the community with mental health complications, also visited Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education for mental health checkups and celebrated the world mental health day with us. They thanked ATIHE for providing this important opportunity for its staff, faculty, students and members of the local community for raising the awareness on world mental health day.   Towards a Promising Future…
