Faculty of Economics Arranges a Study Tour to Ministry of Industry and Commerce

The Faculty of Economics organized a study tour to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on May 8, 2024. The purpose of the study tour was to meet with the Ministry's leadership, better understand the Ministry's policies, plans, and exchange ideas and recommendations on advancing the Ministry's strategic objectives towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: sustainable economic growth and SDG 1: poverty reduction in Afghanistan. Students learned about Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), import and export strategies, strategy-making steps, national and international investments, and human resources management during this tour. They met with the heads of various ministry departments and had a question and answer session regarding industry and commerce in Afghanistan with the relevant departments.   "We thank the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for giving such an opportunity for our students to come and meet with the heads of different departments at this ministry and give them a practical and experiential tour to improve their insight into industry and commerce," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean of Economics Faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education.  Economics Faculty students have attended several study tours to the related national and international organizations and have learned essential topics related to their field of study. All in all, the study tour was efficient and useful for students in maintaining a good practical experience from the site and going forward to improving their abilities. Students described the field visit quite useful and thanked the economics faculty leadership for arranging such study-tours for its students. Meanwhile, the leadership of Economics Faculty promised to enhance practical learning approaches for its students, and therefore, has signed bilateral agreements with certain local and foreign high profile institutions. At the end Mr. Wojohullah “Amin”, head of BBA department at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education thanked the leadership and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for their cooperation in facilitation of the visit. Economics Faculty students from Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited Afghan-Kazakh International EXPO.

Around 50 students from the economics faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited the International EXPO on April 25, 2024.This visit gave our students the necessary awareness about the growing industrial sector of the country. The students had the opportunity to recognize various industrial products such as: agriculture, technology, traditional handicrafts and artworks of Afghan artists. Students were able to see the talent and creativity of Afghan entrepreneurs and the quality of their products.   The International Exhibition was jointly organized by the ministry of industry and commerce of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in Kabul. The exhibition last for 2 days April 25-26, 2024. Around 200 local and regional companies presented their products and services in this exhibition where most of them were the local companies from around the country. More than 50000 people visited this international EXPO where 30% of the visitors were the female including university students. The aim of this exhibition was to showcase the capabilities of the economic spectrum of society, unveiling new products and productions, increasing demand, and creating economic and production coordination among economic actors at the country and regional level. The presence of influential parties, especially the mining industry, agriculture, technology, electrical equipment, plastic industry, food industry, handicrafts, medical equipment and spices, private education sectors and other products of national and international producers, along with the fields of cooperation to increase and bring the insight of investors and economic drivers at the national and international level. "We know the importance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for our students. The Faculty of Economics Observes International Labor Day

In comply with observing the international days and as part of its commitment to help in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan, the Faculty of Economics at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education celebrated the International Labor Day on May 1st, 2024 to honor the nation's workers and their contributions to the well-being of the country in general and to appreciate the hard work and dedication of the support staff working with Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education in specific. The economics faculty leadership, lecturers, support staff, and a large number of students from the economics faculty came together to celebrate this vital day that has a global focus and importance.  After World War II, the International Labor Organization (ILO), a UN agency dedicated to improving working conditions worldwide, adopted International Labor Day as an official event. International Labor Day, also known as Workers’ Day, falls on May 1st every year and is celebrated by people around the world. International Labor Day remains a vital platform to recognize the contributions of workers, advocate for their rights, and promote a fairer and more sustainable future of work for all. ‘’We heartedly recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our workers that play a pivotal role in the advancement of teaching and learning journey across the university’’ said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, the Dean of Economics Faculty at ATIHE. Al-Taqwa Journal of Social Sciences Receives Certificate of National Accreditation

The leadership of Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education (ATIHE) is delighted to share with you that ATIHE has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the fourth educational institution, out of a total of 140 universities and institutions, to receive the prestigious Certificate of National Accreditation for its academic journal, the Al-Taqwa Journal of Social Sciences. The evaluation process for the National Accreditation took place on October 29, 2023, when a distinguished delegation from the Department of Research, Compilation, and Translation of the Ministry of Higher Education visited our institution. Following a transparent assessment, the assessment report was submitted to the Research, Compilation, and Translation Scientific Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education. Based on their decision, the Al-Taqwa Journal of Social Sciences was deemed worthy of the national accreditation certificate. We are pleased to inform you that the certificate was presented to Mr. Khushal Javad, the respected Chancellor of ATIHE, in his office on January 7, 2024. The certificate was handed over by Dr. Lutfullah Khairkhwa, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, and Dr. Hamidullah Muzamal, Head of Research, Compilation, and Translation of the Ministry of Higher Education. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the academic and administrative staff for their unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, and commitment to academic excellence. This achievement would not have been possible without your hard work and contributions. We assure you of our continued support for your research and development endeavors. It is better to highlight that the Al-Taqwa Journal of Social Sciences received its license from the Department of Research, Compilation, and Translation of the Ministry of Higher Education on June 1, 2022. The PDC Center at ATIHE Empowers Faculty and Staff with Successful Research Skills Development Workshop

The Professional Development Center (PDC) at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education (ATIHE) organized a seven-day workshop on Successful Research Skills Development. The workshop aimed to enhance the research capabilities of lecturers and administrative staff at ATIHE. The workshop began with a recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the opening speech of Mr. Khushal Jawad, the Chancellor of ATIHE. He delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the complexity of the research process and the importance of acquiring diverse skills for successful research. Mr. Jawad highlighted the significance of active participation in such workshops, as they contribute significantly to the capacity building of the faculty and administrative staff at ATIHE. Moreover, Mr. Mohammad Naseer Haidari conducted the workshop, covering the following topics: 1.      Topic Selection for Research Proposal 2.      Research Title Writing 3.      Hypothesis Development 4.      Types of Research 5.      Abstract Writing for Research The workshop included an interactive question and answer session, providing participants with the opportunity to seek clarification on the discussed topics. Mr. Haidari responded to the questions raised, ensuring a thorough understanding of the workshop content. Finally, Mr. Abdul Hameed Seerat, the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs at ATIHE, expressed gratitude to Mr. Haidari for his comprehensive workshop. He emphasized the importance of individual capacity development for both employees and the overall improvement of the institute. Mr. Seerat encouraged all participants to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their research endeavors. At the end of the workshop, participants were awarded certificates of participation as recognition of their active engagement and commitment to professional development.
