Al-Taqwa University Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) With the GD Goenka University in India.

Al-Taqwa University and GD Goenka University in India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 24, 2022, to enhance the international engagement and capabilities of both Universities. The primary purpose of this MoU is to facilitate the initiation of collaborations between Al-Taqwa University and GD Goenka University, to support research, review and measure data for the work performed, develop and exchange best practices, capacity building, and other forms of academic partnerships to tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) particularly SDG 4: Quality Education.   Both Universities can benefit from this MoU to increase the academic and research footprints on regional and global issues facing the UN SDGs. Also, our faculty and students can collaborate on research with international peers that can ultimately prepare them to contribute to their economies. There is always room for universities to adopt global best practices, so both institutions can mutually contribute to programs, contents, and processes. “Signing such MoUs with universities in other parts of the world and putting them into action can contribute an excellent deal for internationalization and enhance the efforts towards achieving UN SDGs," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Al-Taqwa University's Dean for the Faculty of Economics. Based on this MoU, Al-Taqwa University and GD Goenka University will review the progress of work under each program and collaborate in research, capacity building, and academic partnerships. "Working with the universities abroad will help us strengthen our international affairs and work on strategic partnerships that clearly show our genuine efforts towards internationalization," said Dr. Abdul Hameed Seerat, Al-Taqwa University's Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Al-Taqwa University Receives the Global Membership with SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION NETWORK (SDSN).

Al-Taqwa University is Delighted to Announce Its Global Membership with Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN). Congratulations! The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. It is a United Nations-supported initiative established to promote practical problem-solving for sustainable development and raise the profile for sustainability in academic institutions around the world. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. SDSN aims to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. It works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Much of SDSN’s work is led by National and Regional SDSNs, which mobilize knowledge institutions around the SDGs. Several Thematic Networks mobilize experts from around the world on the technical challenges of implementing the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. SDSN has offices in India, Paris, and New York. Al-Taqwa University is the only Afghan institution in the eastern region of the country that has made sustainability one of its most fundamental priorities driven by research, practice, and strategic partnerships. World Health Day Compaign

World health Day Is A Global Health Awareness Day Celebrated On 7 April Every Year, Under The Sponsorship Of The World Health Organization (WHO) And Other Related Organizations. The First World Health Assembly Decided To Celebrate World Health Day On April 7 Of Each Year, With Effect From 1950. World Health Day Is Held To Mark WHO's Founding And Is Seen As An Opportunity By The Organization To Drive Worldwide Attention To A Subject Of Significant Importance For Global Health Each Year. World Health Day Is One Of Eight Official Global Health Annual Campaigns Marked By WHO, Along With World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, And World Hepatitis Day. In Compliance With Goal Number 3 And As Part Of Its Commitment To Help In Achieving The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) In Afghanistan, Al-Taqwa Institute Of Higher Education In Coordination With The Provincial Health Directorate, Will Jointly Celebrate World Health Day On April 07, 2023, At ATIHE. Two Teams Of Doctors Will Visit ATIHE From JACK (Just For Afghan Capacity And Knowledge) Organization And The Provincial Health Directorate. March 21st World Planting Day.

March 21st Is Also World Planting Day. This Day Is Dedicated To Planting Whatever You Possibly Can, From Trees, And Flowers To Vegetables, But Also Spreading Awareness Of The Importance Of Plants. And It Would Be The Better Beginning Of The Spring Season To Celebrate It. Plants And Trees Provide Food For All Terrestrial Organisms, Supply Oxygen, Control Soil Erosion, And Are Used To Make Medicines Among Many Other Precious Things.  The Student Volunteers Club At Al-Taqwa University Will Initiate A Campaign On March 21, 2023 – Tuesday At The University. A Plant Donation Camp Will Be Held At The University By The Volunteers Club On The Mentioned Date And Will Run Between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The Said Club Calls Upon All The Students, Faculty, And Staff To Donate At Least A Single Plant To The Volunteers Club In Order To Fulfill Our Social Responsibility In This Regard.  The Volunteers Club Will Also Take Part And Will Jointly Run A Planting Campaign In Collaboration With Nangarhar Municipality And Will Donate The Collected Plants To A Number Of Organizations & Higher Education Institutions Located In Jalalabad City. We Also Call Upon The Members Of Our Local Community, Especially The Youth To Take An Active Part In This Campaign And At Least Visit Al-Taqwa University And Donate A Plant. AU Is The Only Afghan Institution In The Eastern Region Of The Country That Has Made Sustainability One Of Its Most Fundamental Priorities Driven By Research, Practice, And Strategic Partnerships. Intra- University Debate Competition held

The Debate Club At Al-Taqwa Higher Education Institution Organized A One-Day Intra-Debate Between The Students Of Law Political Science And Economics Faculties Under The Title Of (Students Will Work Along With Studies) On Feb 22, 2023, Where The Assistant Dean Of The Faculty Of Economics, Respected Lecturers Of Both Faculties Of Law And Political Science And Economics Alongside A Large Number Of Students Also Attended The Debate. The Debate Started With The Recitation Of A Few Verses Of The Holy Quran By A Respected Professor. Hamatullah Hamat. Later On, Respected Lecturer Fawad Aryan Gave A Comprehensive Speech About The Value, Goals, And Principles Of The Debate. He Mentioned That Debate Is A Powerful Tool For Students' Critical Thinking And Added That Debate Gives Students An Opportunity To Learn Professional Communication Skills. The Debate Was Conducted In Such A Way That The Members Of The Institute's Debating Club Were Divided Into Two Groups. One Group Represented The Government In Parliament And The Other Group Represented The Opposition. The Government Group Wanted To Pass A Resolution That Would Allow Students To Work Alongside Their Studies, But The Opposition Called This Resolution A Detriment To The Nation. After That, The Prime Minister Define The Resolution, Talked About The Benefits Of The Resolution, And Presented Various Reasons For Passing The Resolution. Furthermore, The Leader Of The Opposition Presented His Reasons For Rejecting The Resolution.  In The Same Sequence, The Deputy Leader Of The Government, The Deputy Leader Of The Opposition, The Member Of The Government, And The Member Of The Opposition And Whips Of Both Sides Also Presented Their Reasons For Supporting And Rejecting The Resolution. The Participants Liked The Debate And Appreciated The Hardworking Of The Students. It Is Worth Mentioning That, Mr. Wasiqullah Hamdard, Head Of The Basic Economics Department Of The Faculty Of Economics, Mr. Alfatullah Katwal, Head Of The Administrative And Finance Department, And Mr. Fawad Aryan Were Judges And Mr. Abdul Basit Was The Timekeeper Of The Debate. In Conclusion, The Debate Was Assessed Positively And The Group Of Students Of The Faculty Of Law And Political Science Was Announced As The Winner Of The Debate The Best Speakers From Both Groups Of The Debate Were Given Gifts By The Leadership Of The Institution.
